non-fiction pop culture books
 Guidelines

1701 Press is accepting new proposals
from authors. We are open to non-fiction proposals only—from writers who consider themselves experts on some aspect of the popular culture, including but not limited to the fields of television, film and music. Like many readers of pop culture books, we love authors who have something to say that expands the current thinking on their chosen topic. For example, we're interested in ideas for innovative TV episode guides, extraordinary music histories, pop culture commentary that entertains and blows our minds, and relevant dissertations or theses on pop culture that can be rewritten for a wider audience. Your one-page book proposal must include:

1) A thorough explanation of your idea.
2) A persuasive case for why you are the expert to write it.
3) An understanding of who your audience is (who will buy your book).
